Introducing Our New Teachers - 2
The 2019-20 school year welcomes a large group of new teachers. We asked all of our new teachers to the district to share some information so we could all get to know them a bit. They are a fascinating group!
Name: Stacy DeStefano
Teaching Assignment: Kindergarten, Long-term Substitute

Teaching Experience: Pennridge School District, Autistic Support TA Kindergarten-4 years, PA Virtual Charter School Special Education Teacher- 7 years, Souderton Area School District Learning Support Teacher- 7 years
Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, gardening, going to amusement parks, spending time with my family
Why did you become a teacher?: To make a difference in the lives of as many students as I can. As a teacher, you are more than just an educator; you are a mentor and a friend to students in your classroom.
What is your favorite part of teaching? Making a positive impact on students, sharing memories together and making learning fun for them.
What is one thing you want the community to know? I love to travel with my family to different Caribbean Islands and especially love visiting Disney World.
Name: Megan Edinger

Teaching Experience: I have been teaching band, orchestra, and general music since 2004 and have taught in Maryland and most recently Upper Darby, PA
Hobbies/Interests: Kick boxing and cross stitching
Why did you become a teacher?: I chose to become a teacher so I could share the joy of making music with as many people as possible.
What is your favorite part of teaching? The favorite part of my teaching experience is seeing learners take ownership of their learning experiences.
What is one thing you want the community to know? I love to help people find their sanity and happiness.
Name: Alexandra Heath

Teaching Experience: 2 years home-school, 2 years in NYC public school.
Hobbies/Interests: Watching TV and movies with my husband and cat.
Why did you become a teacher?: I love working with kids and wanted to have a job with the most impact.
What is your favorite part of teaching? Anytime I get to spend with my students!
What is one thing you want the community to know? I ran my own company for a year that worked with families and children with special needs.

Hobbies/Interests: Cooking, baking, exercising.
Why did you become a teacher?: I grew up in a family of teachers and the love of learning was instilled in me at a young age.
What is your favorite part of teaching? Helping a child reach their full potential.
What is one thing you want the community to know? I am a crazy cat lady! I got married on October 19th.
