Teachers Go Above and Beyond to Help Students and Community
Teaching is more than standing in front of a class and sharing knowledge. Quakertown teachers often go above and beyond to help their students. So, when there is a student or family in need, it is natural for teachers to lend a helping hand. Now, two of our members are asking for your help, too.
Chris Goerlitz, Strayer social studies teacher and union leader, recently put together a GoFundMe fundraiser to help one of his students whose family has been going through an incredibly difficult time. While confidentiality prevents us from sharing much information, Chris started the campaign to help his student's family avoid being homeless. So far, he has raised more than $6,000, surpassing his goal of $5,000. If you'd like to donate, you can click here through Saturday.

And the high school community is grieving the untimely passing of recent graduate, Michael Terra. Mike was a football player and his coach, George Banas, and teammates want to help Mike's family get through this very difficult time. They are asking community members to donate money to help support the Terra family. The campaign has grown to more than $16,000, showing just how caring our Quakertown community is.
