QCEA Celebrates Retirees! Janet Weihbrecht

As we wrap up the school year, since we can't celebrate in person, QCEA wants to virtually celebrate all of our retirees. We thank them for their years of dedication and service, and we wish them all the best in retirement!

Name: Janet Weihbrecht

Current Assignment: Richland

Number of Years in Education: 33

Number of Years Teaching in Quakertown: 33

Which building(s) have you worked in? Richland and Tohickon Valley.

What will you miss the most about teaching? I will miss the kids most and the friendships I made with colleagues.

What will you miss the least about teaching? I will not miss heavy school bags to take home on the weekends.

What is your happiest memory from your time in Quakertown? Some of the best years of my teaching career were looping from first to second grade.

What advice do you have for teachers? My advice to teachers would be to stay focused on the kids and what is best for them.

What are your retirement plans? When I retire I plan to spend time with my family, read, garden and volunteer.
